- Support in general, fundamental and project-related issues concerned with international cooperation in nature conservation
- Coordinating international issues relating to nature and landscape conservation and sustainable resource use
- Implementing
international, multilateral and bilateral accords
- Ongoing development of strategies for international cooperation in nature conservation (among other things with regard to
crisis prevention and
combating poverty)
- Representing BfN in international cooperation involving national agencies, the German states (Länder) and national and
international organisations (GIZ, KfW, WWF, IUCN, UNEP, UNESCO etc.)
Carrying out bilateral and multilateral international nature conservation cooperation projects
- Coordination of BfN's international nature conservation activities
