Hunted species protected according to Annex C and D to Regulation (EC) No. 338/97
For the import of hunting trophies from third countries (countries outside of the European Union) as personal effects from species listed in Annexes C and D to Council Regulation (EC) No. 338/97, there is no requirement for documents under species conservation legislation.
These provisions apply to the following hunted species, among others:
- Aardwolf (Proteles cristatus)
- African civet (Civettictis civetta)
- Barbary deer (Cervus elaphus barbarus)
- Bengal fox (Vulpes bengalensis)
- Blackbuck (Antilope cervicapra)
- Four-horned antelope (Tetracerus quadricornis)
- Golden jackal (Canis aureus)
- Guatemalan white-tailed deer (Odocoileus virginianus mayensis)
- Honey badger (ratel) (Mellivora capensis)
- Water chevrotain (Hyemoschus aquaticus)
- Wild Asiatic buffalo (Bubalus arnee)
