4) The total area of nature conservation areas in Schleswig-Holstein is 206,475 ha; this includes 160,142 ha in mudflat and marine areas not in the land area statistics; 151,653 ha of mudflat and marine areas are also part of the Schleswig-Holsteinisches Wattenmeer national park.
