Perennial vegetation of stony banks
NATURA 2000 Code: 1220
Definition:
Shingle and gravel beaches supporting perennial salt-tolerant and nitrophilous vegetation in their upper reaches (Cakiletea maritimae p.p.). The lower reaches of sea cliffs within the spray zone are also included if they support the relevant vegetation.
Notes on habitat mapping:
This habitat type includes shingle and gravel beaches supporting the typical halophytic vegetation which is dominated by perennial species. Smaller areas free of vegetation located in between occurrences of the relevant vegetation can be included under this type.
Along sea cliffs (
1230) seaward shingle beaches supporting the relevant vegetation are recorded separately (
1220).
