Definition:
Ephemeral karstic lakes and subsidence dolines (e.g. called 'turloughs' in Ireland) which are often characterized by specific biocoenoses.
Notes on habitat mapping:
Precise mapping is hardly feasible and requires detailed knowledge of the hydrology. Some of these lakes appear episodically with a number of years in between.
