* Xeric sand calcareous grasslands (Koelerion glaucae)

Definition:

Dry, frequently open grasslands on more or less calcareous sands with a subcontinental centre of distribution (xeric sand calcareous grasslands, Koelerion glaucae, Sileno conicae-Cerastion semidecandri, Sedo-Cerastion in parts).


Notes on habitat mapping:

This habitat type can be delimited based on the presence of vegetation of the syntaxa given above. It includes stands in both flat situations and on inland dunes. Examples on secondary sites are also to be considered.


Additional notes:

Good examples have sometimes been maintained on military training sites.
