Calcareous rocky slopes with chasmophytic vegetation

NATURA 2000 Code: 8210

Definition:

Dry to moist calcareous rock and rock faces with their chasmophytic vegetation (Potentilletalia caulescentis) in all vegetation zones.

Notes on habitat mapping:

The precondition for assignment to this habitat type is the presence of vegetation of the syntaxa given above.

The entire area of the rock face that is free of woodland and scrub should be included if considerable sections host the relevant vegetation.

Occurrences in open former quarried sites and which are subject to near-natural development are included (e.g. quarries, rocky slopes cut for transport routes). Active quarries as well as secondary occurrences on walls are not included.
