Successful implementation of Natura 2000 depends on the integration and active support from these different groups.

This DVD informs about the situation of the European network of protected areas Natura 2000 in Germany, including future steps of implementation. It gives an overview on German sites according to both EU-nature directives, the Habitats Directive (92/43/EEC) and the Birds Directive (79/409/EEC). Apart from numerous statistical data and short fact sheets for all species of Annex II and all habitats of Annex I occurring in Germany, all SCI’s and SPA’s are now accessible in an interactive map project at the scale of the topographic map system 1:200,000.
