Bundesamt für Naturschutz in Kooperation mit dem UFZ-iDiv
Horst Korn / Jutta Stadler (BfN)
European experts in the fields of climate change and nature conservation as well as (human) health and well-being.
The aim of this workshop is to showcase and explore existing evidence and local case studies on health effects of urban green space and biodiversity particularly addressed to mitigate and adapt to health impacts from climate change in Europe's urban areas. Challenges, barriers and opportunities of green space intervention strategies should be identified and assessed. An explicit goal is to assess how green space and biodiversity could positively influence health and to provide guidance to planning and implementation initiatives together with actors from science, policy and society. This workshop will also serve as a think-tank 1. to steer the content of the international BfN/ENCA conference on ‚Urban Biodiversity and Health in the Face of Climate Change' on 27.-29.6.2017 in Bonn/Germany 2. to guide the development of a background positioning paper.
