Interactive database for Baltic Sea porpoises

• Overview of porpoise occurrence in the Baltic Proper (historical and recent)
• Create database including information from all nine countries on: strandings, by-catch, hunted animals, effort sightings, incidental sightings, T-POD data
• Increase and simplify cooperation between countries
• Increase public awareness of porpoises by setting up a website, including an in-teractive map showing all records of the database (sorted by category)
• Status October 2007: 1,237 records from 1905 to 2007; contributed by Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Latvia, Poland and Sweden; and European Seabirds at Sea database
