The Federal Agency for Nature Conservation (BfN) funds a wide range of marine and coastal nature conservation research. This research is mainly carried out by scientists at major university institutes and partly by private-sector research facilities.
Other projects are carried out in cooperation between BfN and institutes or nature conservation NGOs. Finally, a number of projects are not funded by BfN but are supported in nature conservation matters.
Three of these special projects are presented on the pages that follow. Others will be added in due course.
