New president at the Federal Agency for Nature Conservation

On September 1, Sabine Riewenherm will take office as President of the Federal Agency for Nature Conservation (BfN). Most recently, the biology graduate headed the State Environmental Agency in Rhineland-Palatinate. She succeeds Prof. Dr. Beate Jessel, who held the post for just under 14 years and is now moving to Switzerland as director of the Swiss Federal Institute for Forest, Snow and Landscape Research (WSL). Jochen Flasbarth, State Secretary at the Federal Ministry for the Environment, carried out the handover of office today at the Federal Agency for Nature Conservation in Bonn.
