Habitats Directive species with changes in conservation status over the period 2007 to 2013

Number of improvements and deteriorations in conservation status among Habitats Directive species more or less equal

The assessment of species conservation status in the 2013 Habitats Directive report shows few changes relative to the 2007 assessment. Taking the changes across all biogeographical regions, the numbers of improvements and deteriorations in species status are more or less equal. There are 18 deteriorations (many of them amphibians) compared with 16 improvements (mostly among fishes and larger mammals such as beaver, wildcat and grey seal).
