  • 1. Appraisal, analysis and ongoing development of general and specific aspects of and strategies in national, European and international species conservation enforcement law
  • 2. Enforcement of species conservation law (EU action plans, detailed checks, investigation proceedings, cooperating with and supporting national enforcement authorities such as customs and Länder authorities, focal point for other EU agencies for German EU certificates) and compilation of information on species conservation (newsletters, forum, enforcement guidance and preparation of information relevant to enforcement)
  • 3. Processing appeals, actions and prosecutions in relation to the responsibilities of Directorate I 1
  • 4. Processing appeals and actions relating to the planting of alien species in accordance with Section 40 (5) of the Federal Nature Conservation Act (BNatSChG), and providing information on legal questions in this regard
