Renewable energy
Climate change currently poses a threat to the diversity of life on earth. This is why transforming our energy supply system to renewable energy sources is one of the key challenges faced in Germany today.
The energy switch must be implemented in a manner that is compatible with nature so that it does not take place at the expense of biodiversity. Use of land for the generation of renewable energy must therefore be carefully assessed for potential conflicts with nature and the environment. This is why, in their expansion strategies and expansion plans, all stakeholders must consider the needs of nature conservation and landscape management at the earliest possible stage. Use of wind energy and solar energy are central pillars of alternative energy generation. A range of other energy carriers and technologies also play a role in the new energy mix.
