Bundesamt für Naturschutz

Library

Founded in 1906, the Federal Agency for Nature Conservation (BfN) library is the biggest and oldest nature conservation library in Germany. In addition to the main library at BfN headquarters in Bonn, there is also a branch in Leipzig.

Both libraries are open to the public, but books and reference materials may only be viewed on site. The library inventory can be searched in the DNL-online literature database. The editorial office manages publication of the BfN series Naturschutz und Biologische Vielfalt (Nature Conservation and Biodiversity) and BfN-Skripten.
