German National Strategy on Biodiversity
The German National Strategy on Biological Diversity is the German NBSAP regarding the implementation of the CBD. It was adopted by the cabinet resolution of 7 November 2007.
Background:
According to article 6 of the CBD each member state needs to develop a National Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan (NBSAP) for the implementation of the COP decisions, in order to integrate the CBD objectives into national policies and in order to report about progress, success and failure. In this way each member state integrates conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity into national plans and decisions. NBSAPs measure the progress of incorporation of the CBD into national law and national policies.
