Hunted species protected according to Annex C and D to Regulation (EC) No. 338/97

For the import of hunting trophies from third countries (countries outside of the European Union) as personal effects from species listed in Annexes C and D to Council Regulation (EC) No. 338/97, there is no requirement for documents under species conservation legislation.

These provisions apply to the following hunted species, among others:

  • Aardwolf (Proteles cristatus)
  • African civet (Civettictis civetta)
  • Barbary deer (Cervus elaphus barbarus)
  • Bengal fox (Vulpes bengalensis)
  • Bezoar goat (Capra hircus aegagrus); ATTENTION: additional permit requirement because of the simultaneous listing in FFH-Directive
  • Blackbuck (Antilope cervicapra)
  • Blue sheep (Pseudois nayaur)
  • Four-horned antelope (Tetracerus quadricornis)
  • Golden jackal (Canis aureus)
  • Guatemalan white-tailed deer (Odocoileus virginianus mayensis)
  • Honey badger (ratel) (Mellivora capensis)
  • Siberian Ibex (Capra sibirica)
  • Water chevrotain (Hyemoschus aquaticus)
  • Wild Asiatic buffalo (Bubalus arnee)
