Unique in its way to link the protection of natural and cultural heritage, and through its network of over 1,200 sites, the World Heritage Convention plays a vital role in biodiversity conservation. Following a request by the intergovernmental World Heritage Committee, this expert meeting will identify and develop coordinated actions to harness the Convention in support of the goals and targets of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework. The workshop is organised jointly by the UNESCO World Heritage Centre and the German Federal Agency for Nature Conservation (BfN) with its International Academy for Nature Conservation.
