Open Day of the Federal Government in Berlin
Under the motto ‘Connected to Nature’, the hands-on activities and exhibitions organised by the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Climate Action, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMUKN) were entirely dedicated to its 40th anniversary. Federal Environment Minister Carsten Schneider personally welcomed guests on Saturday and answered their questions.
The event management team from the Federal Agency for Nature Conservation (BfN) was also present with its own information and hands-on activities. At our stand, visitors were able to gain a first-hand insight into the work of the BfN – for example, through displays of prohibited holiday souvenirs that customs officials had seized during their checks. The items on display vividly illustrated just how inconspicuous prohibited souvenirs often appear. In keeping with the upcoming holiday season, the BfN provided information on both days of the event on a wide range of issues relating to species protection and international import regulations. Afterwards, guests were able to test their newly acquired knowledge straight away on a wheel of fortune during an entertaining quiz – a popular activity for young and old alike.
