Description

To highlight the importance of nature-based solutions for climate change mitigation and adaptation in urban areas and their rural surroundings, the German Federal Agency for Nature Conservation (BfN) in co-operation with the ENCA Interest Group on Climate Change and the Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research (UFZ) / German Centre for Integrative Biodiversity Research (iDiv) organized the conference on “Nature-based solutions to climate change in urban areas and their rural surroundings – Linkages between science, policy and practice”, which took place from 17-19 November 2015 in Bonn, Germany. In addition, emphasize was given to the potential of nature-based approaches to create multiple benefits regarding ecological, social and economic aspects.
