During the second half of March, the fourth module of the current Klaus Töpfer Fellowship cycle took place at the INA. It focussed on Conservation Governance and Policy.

The module highlight was a two-day excursion to Bonn, where the fellows visited key cooperation partners of the program at their locations and participated in various teaching units, such as in-depth seminars and simulation games. The fellows, emerging leaders in nature conservation from countries in Central and Eastern Europe, the Caucasus, and Central Asia, visited the UN Campus, the German Secretariat of the Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES), the European Regional Office of the IUCN, and the BfN office in Bonn.

The culmination was the awarding of certificates to the fellows by representatives of BfN and its partner organizations, the IUCN and the Convention on Migratory Species (CMS). The Klaus Töpfer Fellowship exists since 2012. With the completion of the sixth cohort, there are now a total of approximately 120 alumni who have received training through this renowned program.
