Humid dune slacks
Humid depressions or blow-outs in sand dunes within dune systems as a complex habitat with their permanent or ephemeral waters, pioneer formations of dwarf rushes, peat-forming systems, humid grassland, reed and large sedge swamps, wet heaths etc.
Notes on habitat mapping
Humid to wet dune slacks of coastal dunes with aquatic, amphibious or terrestrial vegetation of the habitat types / syntaxa given above should be delimitated. Dune slacks dominated by woody plants are excluded and can be considered under the habitat type dunes with Salix repens ssp. argentea (2170), sea buckthorn scrub on grey dunes (2160) or atlantic decalcified fixed dunes (2150) or coastal Empetrum nigrum heathlands (2140) respectively.
The delimitation should be based on the presence of moisture-indicating vegetation types. This habitat type often only covers a small area within other habitat types of coastal dunes.
