Description

The Natura 2000 network, complemented by specific provisions for the protection of endangered species of animals and plants, forms the cornerstone for the implementation of the EU Nature Directives. By committing 15.5 % of its terrestrial area and 45 % of its marine territories, Germany has made a significant contribution to the Natura 2000 network.

This brochure is aimed at interested parties and decision-makers in government and business as well as professional  groups such as farmers and foresters, without whose support the implementation of Natura 2000 cannot succeed
