12 years after the first German status report on floodplains was published a second nationwide study was carried out revising the delineation and assessment of floodplains on the basis of current or new data sources. Current results on the loss of floodplains, their condition and on the status of the implementation of floodplain restoration measures are presented by this report and nationwide maps.
