The interdependence of biodiversity loss and climate change is evident and has been increasingly recognised under the CBD and the UNFCCC in recent years. Yet, concrete political strategies and actions related to the two fields often remain separated, despite the great potential for synergies. This international workshop is intended to contribute to the compilation and analysis of case studies of successful policy coherence between biodiversity and climate at different levels. It will gather experts from the technical level of national ministries and agencies working at the biodiversity-climate interface, as well as additional experts from science, international institutions and civil society. Participants will share and discuss case studies and insights from their fields of work with a view to compiling good practices as well as key success factors for a better alignment of relevant policies.
